Stained glass repairs for all of your stained glass.

If you own a stained glass window, you know how beautiful it can be when the sun shines through. The way the sun’s light is refracted, the way the beams of light illuminate your room. Heartwarming and inspiring!

Unfortunately, you might also know how heartbreaking it is to see your stained glass when it is damaged. If this is the case with your stained glass window or door panel, not to worry, Salt Lake City Stained Glass can help by offering expert stained glass repair.

Many of our clients are amazed at how many years a stained glass window will last, undamaged, especially given the fragility of glass. However, it is glass. It is fragile. And overtime, the panel might have pieces of glass that crack, split, chip, or even fall out altogether. With our stained glass repair process, we have a specific way of dealing with any of these problems.

The first step in stained glass repair is to determine exactly what the piece requires. Some clients move into an existing home with an antique stained glass window that has become filthy over the years. They aren’t sure how to restore the luster or the glow. We offer thorough cleaning and polishing services to restore your antique to its original glory.

However, if it needs new glass or new lead strips (known as caming), we can do those stained glass repairs as well. We have access to literally hundreds of colors, textures, and finishes of glass, so matching the color of a damaged piece is rarely a problem.

If the piece needs to be disassembled to make the repair, we will start at the edge closest to the damaged glass, and work our way inward, only taking apart as much as is absolutely necessary to get to the damage. Sometimes, though, it’s the caming that’s the problem. It might have stretched or warped over time, causing the whole window to bow and the individual pieces of glass to become loose. In this case, we will take apart the entire window and reassemble it, piece by piece, with brand new caming.

And if your broken or damaged window was an antique, don’t worry. We will used specially darkened leads that will continue to give your new, refurbished stained glass window that antique appearance that you love.

If you have a stained glass panel, window, door, light fixture, etc., in need of repair, don’t despair. Stained glass repair from Salt Lake City Stained Glass will bring it back to life. Why not give us a call today?
